Brake Hose Replacement - Rear (Caliper)Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
3. Remove all dirt, grease, or other foreign material from the hose fittings.
4. Disconnect the hose from the brake pipe at the axle.
5. Remove the brake hose retaining clip.
6. Remove the brake hose bolt from the axle.

7. Remove the brake hose mounting bolt and the compression washers at the caliper.
8. Remove the brake hose.
9. Discard the washers.
Installation Procedure

1. Install the brake hose. Do not twist the hose when installing the hose.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the brake hose mounting bolt and new compression washers at the caliper.
^ Tighten the bolt to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).

3. Install the brake hose bolt and the bracket to the axle.
^ Tighten the bolt to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
4. Install the brake hose retaining clip.
5. Connect the brake pipe.
^ Tighten the fitting to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
6. Bleed the brake system.
7. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
8. Remove the safety stands.
9. Lower the vehicle.
