Oil Pump: Service and Repair

Removing And Installing/Replacing Oil Pump

Remove timing case cover.





Remove oil pump cover retaining bolts in sequence (10-1).

Remove oil pump cover.

Install hint:
Tighten oil pump retaining bolts in sequence (1-10).
Oil Pump cover to timing case cover inner
M8 18 Nm





Remove outer gear (1) and inner gear (2).

Note: Outer and inner gear form a matched pair and must always be replaced as a set.





Using a suitable drift, press spacer down until circlip is no longer under strain.

Remove circlip, remove control valve unit.

Caution: Strong spring force.





Replace control valve unit from oil pump cover.

1. Control valve
2. Coil spring
3. Space bush
4. Circlip

Note: Check oil pump housing for scoring or damage.
