Front Crankshaft Seal: Service and Repair

Replacing radial seal below timing case cover
Special tools required:
^ 11 8 320
^ 11 8 241
^ 11 8 242
^ 11 8 270
^ 11 8 290

Remove vibration damper. Refer to Harmonic Balancer - Crankshaft Pulley Service and Repair





Fit special tool 11 8 270 into crankshaft.





Fit special tool 11 8 290 on crankshaft and screw in until it is rigidly connected with the radial sealing ring (1).

Remove radial seal (1) by tightening bolt.





Remove special tool 11 8 270 and replace with special tool 11 8 242 and tighten.





Coat sealing lip of new radial seal with oil.

Using special tool 11 8 320 and special tool 11 8 241 install radial seal, until flush with timing case cover.
